It wasn't meant to be funny, i really didn't know…

I prefer ATI so i dont pay attention to NVidia/EVGA.

    O_O

LOL So did I back in 2007.

  3. 717martin717 says:

    Were they better in 2007?

And when your done playing Video games on it. you can open up your computer and fry a Egg on it. ohh wait thats the GTX 280. the GTX 285 you can Fry 2 Eggs and make some toast.

Just go with the GTX 260. there is no game out it cant handle. Crysis runs great on it.

  6. C4LYFE1 says:

crysis runs great for me with this card, my system is overclocked i7-920 to 3.9ghz

but when I try to play Age of Empires 3 with all settings on max, i only get 12 fps in the menu screen, and 20 fps in-game
    wtf is goin on ?

Yea like i've heard a lot about nvidia being "better" but i've never really payed attention to what cuda, physix etc is.

now that i want to work on my first build im thinking about going with an INTEL cpu & an NVIDIA gpu rather than going with an AMD/ATI combo….

but on the other hand AMD/ATI -ARE- cheaper…

  10. h2oextremepcs says:

Cuda is a very powerful parallel compute engine that allows calculations TO BE MADE much faster than the CPU, is very useful & allowing some incredible performance.
Physx allows the GPU to perform real world graphics like cloth movement & tearing, character movement etc.
Stereoscopic allows 3D vision for 3D Games and Movies on 120hz monitors.

  11. h2oextremepcs says:

AMD & ATI might well be cheaper but you get what you pay for & in my opinion an Intel & Nvidia combination cant be beaten, although for the cheaper end of the Market ATI/AMD make some very very good products for the price.

  12. h2oextremepcs says:

If you want a good performing Gaming PC on a budget you can get the i7 & a GX260 for a very good price but read allot of reviews & surf some forums before you purchase anything, you will find out who does the best version of a Graphics Card, Chipset & what the stepping number is for the best overclocking CPU is in the range you want & the batch numbers so you make sure to get the best.

Not sure. I mean I don't have a GTX 285. Maby it has a Defect because of shipping and handleing. I heard that about the Asus Desk Top at Best Buy. sometimes part of the graphics card with Fall out and Decrease your Preformance and System rating. Unless this is like some nuts game. does it have better graphics then Crysis? cause this card can Handle Crysis Like a Dream. Crysis has the best graphics of any other game im sure. I am guessing you installed this card yourself? IDK other wise man.

  14. 717martin717 says:

Wow, Thanks for explaining it to me, i had a feeling that Cuda & Physix was a bonus that Nvidia had but i wasnt really sure….
I think in the end it all comes down to what YOU the buyer ends up choosing and what you can afford.

The GTX 295 seems Amazing, but you could get the GTX260 like you said for a budget and its really good, as for ATI you HAVE to get the HD 4890 to have one of ATI's Top notch cards wich i think was competing with the GTX260, i mean correct me if im wrong.

  15. h2oextremepcs says:

Yes you are right it depends on what you the customer wants & your needs, no point on a tri sli rig for surfing the web, playing Solitaire & sending the odd email.

Yes the ATI 4890 is a super card, especially for the price but again the extras that Nvidia have make it a better buy in my opinion & its all about personal opinion.
2 GTX280s in SLI would be better than GTX295.

Dont always go on these benchmark tests as all cards perform differently with different games in real world platforms.

  16. 717martin717 says:

    Yea, Your Right. :)

  17. h2oextremepcs says:

Not on anything but the new evga board but whats the point?
    nothing needs 3 295s
    I think 4 GTX 285 or GXT280s would beat 3 295s

  18. Dragun92 says:

3 295's thats not even possible lol.@ the dumbguy in the vid VGA to DVI dongle woooow i want one of those its a breakthrough if they were able to do that

  19. jackbucho says:

im thinking of buying this graphics card but im confused, whats the difference between for example the evga gtx 285 and the gigabyte gtx 285(since the prices are totally diferrent) please help!

  20. TheGreenSmoke says:

in the regular versions only the stickers are diffferent

  21. live4drift666 says:

    u can't have 3 gtx295 in sli… just 1,2 or 4

  22. Lemon0Tart says:

    2 285's beat 1 295. 3 285's beat 2×295.

  23. supercolt says:

the only reason that happens is for the fact that no cpu can keep up with 4 GPU you hit a cpu performance cap when you start going to quad sli

  24. Matt561 says:

    Evga=lifetime warranty

  25. Matt561 says:

These are getting hard to find, prob because the classified is coming out

    4xsli omg
